Hi my name is Heather Anaya and i am a senior here are CSUSM. I grew up in Temple City California. Many people don't know where that is so the next closes place that people will know is Pasadena. I was there until my freshman year in high school. I then moved to San Diego to continue my ice skating my sophomore year in High School. I went to La Rosa Elementary for k-3. I then went to Cloverly for 4-6. I then went to Oak Ave for 7th and 8th grade. I then went onto Temple City High School. After i moved i went to Scripps Ranch High School. I had moved to San Diego to continue my skating career and then got into Western Michigan University. I skated on their skating team there. I made it one year and came back to California. I then went to Mesa Community College to figure out what i wanted to do and ended up here at CSUSM.
My overall experience with technology is ok. I actually took CS301j last semester which taught me a lot. I learned how to do my own web page. It was very hard at first due to i did the class online and i am a visual learner and i need to see what i am doing or what it needs to look like. I think i did ok though getting an A in the class. I am a PC. I think i depend on technology a lot. I use it everyday and it keeps my life going. I have two versions of Microsoft office i have 2003 and 2007.
I think that in the COE the part that speaks to me is on being committed to diversity, equity, and social justice reflective through life-long learning. I also like that it is a student-centered education. I am excited to be a part of all these positive aspects of teaching. I heard from others that CSUSM had a great College of Education and that is what interests me about the school.
